Romain Troublé is Executive Director of the Tara Ocean Foundation and President of the Ocean & Climate Platform. A biologist by training, having studied at Sorbonne University and later at HEC Paris, he also pursued a career as a high-level athlete competing in the America's Cup. He has additionally led polar logistics operations in Siberia, the Arctic, and Antarctica. With Tara, his team has accumulated extensive experience of the Arctic Ocean, including the 500-day drift of Tara reaching 89°N in 2007–08 and the circumnavigation of the Arctic Ocean in 2013 via both passages, making Tara the only French vessel to have conducted research in the Russian Arctic to date.
