Daniela Zeppilli is senior researcher at Ifremer, and, since 2018, she is the head of the Deep Sea Lab. She has internationally renowned experience in deep-sea meiofauna ecology focusing on deep-sea nematodes as indicators of biodiversity in a broad variety of deep-sea ecosystems. Daniela’s research focuses on finding new techniques for advancing the description of this unique biodiversity, including new 3D imaging techniques, genetic probes and artificial intelligence approaches. For her research, Dr Zeppilli won several awards including the prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science France 2014.
