Gilles Bloch has been President of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle since 2023. A medical doctor and researcher, Mr Gilles Bloch has previously served as President of the French National Research Agency (ANR), of Paris-Saclay University, and of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm). He now leads an institution operating across 12 sites throughout France. A unique structure at the interface of science, culture, and society, the Muséum has devoted itself for nearly 400 years to the study of biological, geological, and cultural diversity and to the relationships between humans and nature. At once a research centre, a teaching institution, and a centre of expertise, it also encompasses rich collections presented in its museums, botanical gardens, zoos, and libraries.
